1 vintage beaded and etched ethnic tribal gourd, cultural artwork for sale!
Pre-owned but in good to fair condition with some signs of previous wear. This is perfect for collectors of cultural art!
The item measures 15” inches long by 3 1/2” inches across. The detached leather strap is 17 1/2” inches long. The lid is about 2” inches in circumference.
I am not sure of the country of origin, but I believe this artwork piece may be African. The history on it is unavailable.
The gourd is hand etched with designs, and is absolutely beautiful! (Most of the similar ones for sale online are just plain, and not etched and carved with designs.)
The leather strap on the front has beading, which does have a few beads missing. There are a few marks or surface holes on the gourd that were there at the time of purchase. There is also a slight crack at the top of the storage vessel, which is not that noticeable- see photos. There is a little bit of a musty odor in the inside storage area due to its age. The item is in its original condition and has not been modified. The carrying strap is detached, and can be re-attached or replaced at the new owner’s discretion. Overall, this is a very unique piece of art!
