These exceptional pieces of African Folk Art ismarked , bottom stamped to identify the artisan Abdu K. Bako, part of a smallBako collection. It was originally purchased in the early 1990's in Monrovia,Liberia, Africa. Village scenes were and are still very popular with tourists& travelers hand crafted in native woods found near the towns and villages,each make to showcase the simple daily activities of the town’s people.Most of standing figures range from 3 ½ to to 5 ¼ “ high.

Most examples are more complex,intricate, and more elaborate than tourist and exports available. 3 colors ofThornwood are used: Rose, brown and crème from different thorn trees. This folkart depicts everyday village life in detail.
