    Description

    A. Schacht Travegar R 100mm f/3.3 macro lens with bellows mounting for enlarger.  This is an early macro lens designed for use with bellows.  It is said to have a modified Cooke triplet optical formula (4 elements in three groups) with a 16-leaf diaphragm for best possible bokeh.  Overall diameter is about 59 mm, filter size is 49mm, diaphragm goes from f/3,.3 to f/22.  Schacht lenses are rather rare, and because of their excellent quality the lenses are sought after by discerning photographers.  Albert Schacht established lens production in 1959 in the city of Ulm in West Germany.  The lenses were designed by Ludwig Bertele, who made some very famous lens designs for Zeiss.  All Schacht lenses were built to a very high standard of design, materials and finish.  In 1962 Schacht introduced this 100 mm f3.3 Travegar lens in a non-focusing mount for use on a bellows or extension tube fastened with the four screw hunting plate.  The company produced lenses until 1970.  This lens is in excellent condition.
