African Face Mask African power and spiritual dance Bird Mask Ge Gon-66.5/22 CM
Dan masks have been documented as embodying the personalities of at least a dozen mask artists. Among them were Daigle Mask, who ventured into the village from his initiation camp to ask women for food; Tankagle Mask and Bagle Mask, who entertained themselves with a series of pleasing dances, skits, and pantomimes; Gunyege, a community of champion runners who raced wearing his mask; and the trumpet, which historically led people into battle. The bird-like beak and oval-shaped eyes are called Ge Gon. It was originally educational, historical and regular, and was described as a mask of wisdom. It gradually became one of the most interesting masks, fascinated by its bird-like movements.
