    Description

    Vintage small wooden face mask from the BEMBE tribe, former Belgian Congo.  In Bwami society during circumcision ceremonies, flat face masks are worn showing typically enlarged concave orbits and bulging coffee-bean eyes.  Good condition with a trace of wear due to tribal use.  Initiation mask.
    Nearly 7" long x 5" wide x 2.5" thick.
