Wooden Carved Mask were worn by male dancers and dance competitions were held between neighbouring villages. The dance usually casting 3 characters. The 1st known as Gu Wooden Carved Mask, a beautiful young woman with intricate hair styling. The 2nd is Zaouli Wooden Carved Mask, an Wooden Carved Mask elderly old man with beard. The 3rd character is Zamble, an antelope Wooden Carved Mask, probably the Bushboks which is common to the region. Wooden Carved Mask Human faces are often surmounted by a decorative zoomorphic element. The complexity of the carving demonstrates the artist’s creativity and skills.
