African Songye/Luba Congo (Zaire) Ceremonial Mask
Used for ceremonies, initiation, funeral etc.
This mask was used to bring different people of different tribes together in harmony.
There are holes around the mask, raffia fibre used to be attached.
Material: local heavy hard wood, hand carved
Acquired by collector in Zaire, Africa in the 1960s.
