    Description

    Ethnographic mask made by the Baule/Guro people of the Ivory Coast. Guro masks represent the spirit of Gu, the wife of Zamble(a supernatural being). They honor protective spirits. Mask is made of wood, is in excellent condition and measures 28.25 inches high x 8 inches wide x 7.25 inches deep. Dark wood elongated face painted red, neck piece is dark wood with holes and a gazelle tops the pointed top of the head. Ready to hang. Very interesting and unique piece of African culture.
