    Description

    Fine Meissen Porcelain Cobalt Blue & Gilt Snake Handled Vase. A classical  shaped vase based on a model by Ernst August Leuteritz originally created in 1861. This 19th Century baluster form vase with lavish gilt bands of egg and dart molded decoration at rim and shoulder, raised on socle base with gilt fluted and shield cartouche decoration, with applied gilt highlighted white porcelain entwined snake handles. Under the base it bears the first quality Meissen crossed swords in under glaze blue, impressed "E153"  "133" and "29" in under glaze blue.  Height: 11 inches and approx. 6 ½ inches across the handles. Excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. Pictures are part of description and are a very accurate representation.
