    Wonderful
    Guro elephant mask
    carved from a single piece of wood
    .  This mask is the spirit of Gu, wife of Zamble. Gu is usually represented by an elephant, antelope, hyena, leopard, or crocodile.  The Guro tribes are found in Ivory Coast.  Their art resembles that of the nearby Baule.
    Measures 20" top to bottom x 8" at widest point x 8" depth
    Very good condition.  One chip in the wood along the backside base rim not visible from display (see photo)  Base includes holes for inserting hangers at various points.
