    Handcarved Kenya Wall Mask From Northern Tanzania Africa Ebony Wood Lot Of 2 VTG.
    According to estate sale that this was purchased in 1990’s. Tanzania Mask is very mystical and spiritual. Completely hand-carved in Kenya, and hand-painted with array of handsomely solid Color which is unique and varies slightly on each mask.
    Approximate measurements:
    Small mask - 8 1/4” Tall x 4 1/2” Wide x 1 1/2” Deep
    Medium mask - 9 1/2” Tall x 5” Wide x 1 1/2” Deep
    Not all mask are created the same, it is individually carved from the master carver whose been doing this for many generations. These mask were originally carved to identify which tribe you belong to and serves to scare their enemies. But now they are made for people who love them for their collectibility and to have a piece of Africa, especially those who do not live there.
    There is a chip on back of the smaller mask where the wire hook is located which is unnoticeable since it’s facing the wall and it actually has the artist name carved onto it. The medium size mask has no damage. Both has minor scratches which is consistent for its age.
