Leitz FOCOTAR-2 50mm F4.5...The Best All Round Performer Bar None.

As many of you may not know I spent a good number off years working in a darkroom printing out B+W as well as the odd color image, you learn quite a bit about your tools and what to expect from them. In terms of my own images I've probably used 90% of any enlarging lens made, the adage about 'you get what you pay for' isn't always true so I've experimented with lenses and $$$$$$ Nikkors. I say this as a bit of a preamble to this lens, the Leitz Focotar-Mark II, quite possibly the best all round lens made/on the market.
It can't enlarge to mural size like the Rodagon-G, its not as blazingly contrasty as the El/APO-El Nikkors, it is sharper than almost all lenses out there but where it really comes together is making a 'complete' image. I don't know any other way to put it, the prints are crisp to the eye, the contrast is good but not 'noticeable' if you know what I mean. All in all I find I have fewer 'misses' with this lens and more keepers, maybe its just more forgiving :-)
Anyway, this lens is in excellent condition, no rim dings/scratches/cleaning marks or haze, comes with a locking ring.
