Muncie Pottery 1929 Dancing Nudes Figural Lamp Green Over Pumpkin Haley Design
Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This 27 inch tall Muncie lamp base is beautifully glazed in a green over pumpkin. Exceptional Dancing Nudes design - a true piece of art. The Dancing Nudes is part of the figural line designed by Reuben Haley. This lamp is shown in the current Muncie Pottery book. The brass fittings are aged and showing patina. The finial is original to the piece as well as the Aladdin electrical fittings. The electrical wiring needs to be replaced prior to use. This piece could be used today as a lamp.
Exceptional lamp in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, no repairs and free from crazing. See condition explained above. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections.
Authentic Muncie Pottery. All pictures are original and un-edited.
