Description
This old Bamana
N’Tomo Six Horned Wooden Mask from Mali, West Africa, is hand carved and has
holes for attaching raffia decoration. The Bamana horned masks were used by
boys starting the N’Tomo initiation ceremonies. The small mouth indicates the
value of silence and thinking before speaking out, and the long nose suggests
the ability to smell the good and bad qualities in people. This six horned mask
has a small head above its forehead. It is in good condition with all six horns
intact (one carefully glued) and shows some wear and use. There is deterioration
damage to the top of the small head. It is a wonderful and unique African mask
for your home décor and/or collection. See the pics. PayPal only. No
international shipping.
