    Description

This is a Cooperstown postcard, nicely signed by former Major League Baseball third baseman GENE FREESE. Gene Freese played in the Major Leagues from 1955-1966 with the Pirates, Cardinals, Phillies, White Sox, Reds, and Astros. He compiled a lifetime .254 batting average, and hit 9 pinch-hit home runs during his career--two consecutive in April 1959. Freese was a member of the 1961 National League Champion Cincinnati Reds team that lost the World Series to the Yankees in five games. This postcard depicts the "Sand Lot Kid" statue, which was erected in 1964 at the entrance to Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, New York. This postcard is clean, but it does exhibit light creasing from handling and storage over the years. The signature is clear and bold. It would make a great addition to your own collection, or it would make an inexpensive gift for that Gene Freese fan or vintage autograph collector in your life! Postage is .00. Insurance, if desired, is .75 extra. (I'm sorry, but I'm not responsible for items mailed without insurance.) And, of course I'll combine postage on multiple purchases. Be sure to check the other items in my eBay store, too!
