    Description

    A hand-carved, wooden mask from Senufo tribe of the Ivory Coast of Africa.  The mask, 16" high by 8" wide and 6" deep, is in original, uncleaned condition coming from a private collection...the back part of the blue man's ear is missing. The age of the mask is probably after 1900 but I am not an expert on the subject.  It needs a good cleaning to bring out the blue character sitting on top and the rich browns of the main face.  This comes from a collection (partial) of 23 that I will be putting up over the next two weeks.  A few of them are identified with an inside tag but most of them have lost their identification over time and handling.  I will release the name of collection if given permission but cannot as of this writing.
