    He's Old.
Hard to say how hold, could be 100 years old but can only estimate it was created between 1900 - 1960.

Been Through Some Rough Times and Survived  - This is What Makes This Mask Especially Desirable!
The sail canvas and fishing net adornments suggest this was carved in a coastal African town.
Likely to have been hand carved by a local, perhaps a fisherman, not a professional mask carver because features such as eyes are not perfectly symmetrical.
At some point, decades ago, a former owner added a light fixture in the back. When I purchased from the estate of a merchant marine, the cord on the back was old and dangerous! The cloth insulation had decayed to the point where bare wires were exposed. I had the fixture upgraded by lamp restoration technician. Now there is a UL rated electric cord with an on/off switch.  To increase the illumination impact, I added an LED remote controlled color changing bulb. Plug it in if you wish, or keep the cord behind the mask and no/one will know of its secrete feature.
I have visions of this great mask hanging in an old sailors bar in port city such as Lagos, Nigeria.
This Mask is Large! For reference, look at the pictures showing it next to more typically sized masks and next to a dining room chair.
