Hand carved by a tribal village artisan in WEST AFRICA in 1976 during my time there.
Made of lightweight wood, some type of natural fiber for the string braids, and a carved, finished coconut shell.
Stained dark brown.
Overall weight: 5-1/2 ounces

Width (diameter of coconut shell: 5" inches
Height (top to bottom of snare picks): 12" inches
Depth (from wall to coconut shell surface): 1-1/2" inches
Depth (from wall to headdress surface around oval of head): 1/2" inches.
Condition: New, Excellent considering its age (46 years).

Has always been in an odor-free and smoke-free environment.
Acquired in the summer of 1976 during a lengthy stay in West Africa as a young boy.
I have been the sole owner.
It has been in climate controlled dark storage facility fo maintain its excellent condition for over 42 years.
It was never hung up on display after returning to CA.
The stain finish shows slight signs of age and wear throughout.
There is some dirt and dust residue most of which I recently cleaned clear of with a microfiber cloth, but there is still some residue left.
There are some minor areas of surface wear on the coconut shell.
There are no missing pieces and no cracks.
