Vintage African Horned Beast & Monkey Hand Carved Wooden Helmet Mask Fragment

This listing is for a Vintage African Horned Beast & Monkey ? Hand Carved Wooden Helmet Mask Fragment on a metal and wooden stand , measuring 19 inches in height when on base , with helmet fragment  about 10 inches deepest , 5 1/2 widest, and 10 1/4 inches tallest , with helmet weighing 760 grams.
The base is a wooden cube which has an iron piece mounted on it with a brass rod about 2 mm in diameter , and about 1- 1/2 inches , sits in the center hole of the base on one end , and inside a hole made on the underside of helmet on the other end , and therefore on the base.
The Black wooden base is about 4 inches by 4 inches by 2 1/2 inches tall , and base assembly including the brass rod weighs 538 grams and is about 12 inches in height with the brass rod inside. Not The best display base but it does a good job in holding helmet and displaying it.
There is loss / damage to the bottom part of helmet and there is deterioration on the underside . It carries dirt and patina throughout and the wood .
I am not sure if this was actually a part of a mask or if it was part of a helmet .I am not sure what the horned figure represents and or if the animal holding the horns is actually a monkey but monket is my best guess. I am not sure what are the two things under his foot represent either.
