Vintage African Wood Mask Mossi Karan Wemba Burkina Faso Ancestral Tribal Art

Description

This is an Original Vintage Mossi Karan Wemba Wood Mask. Handmade & used in Burkina Faso, Africa by the Mossi society during their tribal ceremonies. It was picked up during our extensive travels in the 1970's. I believe it was probably made around the 1940-50's? It is in its original condition, with some normal cracking/splitting of some areas from dryness over the years(see photos). A larger ceremonial mask that measures approximately 42 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and 6.5 inches deep. A great, used African collectable from many, many years ago. Rare to see one for sale, as most are in private collections or museums!
