I believe this is a Songye mask. The Songye settled in the southeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They have a strong interest in magic, which affects many aspects of their lives. The Songye carvers excel in the production expressionistic and very dramatic masks. They were often topped by totemic animals or birds.
