Vintage wooden Tribal Mask Estate Find.
From a Connecticut estate.
Not much is known about the origins. The couple that owned it passed on, and this was in the daughters possession. She recalls them taking many trips, and that this was something they brought back with them on one of those trips.
It’s very primitive looking and constructed. Not sure of the wood used. Given that it has a human appearance and horns, I’m assuming it is some kind of cultural devil.
The nose is very pronounced and has some red color in the nostrils. The pupils on the eyes are a light blue.
It measures approximately 11” tall by 9 1/2” wide and 5 1/2” deep.
It weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces.
It has a wire for hanging. The stand is not included.
Very unique and attention grabbing piece for sure. Has a very primitive look, not polished, which gives it a great deal of authenticity.
Will be wrapped with care.
