A round African mask that originates from Ghana with the Bakota tribe. It is all handcrafted, decorated with brass and colorful bead inlays. It is used for festivity and celebration. I've read it's based on an elderly wise man with a face that symbolizes strength. The wood used is Sese wood which is then tanned black and polished to give it a smooth clean feel.
measures 11 1/4"w x 12"h x 3" deep. Has a picture hook added to the reverse for easy hanging and display.
